The Trust
Founded in her name, three months after her martyrdom — turning an unbearable loss into opportunity for other young women in law.
Not a death toll — a life that protects the next
Fizza Trust was established in June 2014 by Fizza’s father, three months after her martyrdom. Its founding theme, “Every Life Counts”, rejects the arithmetic of terrorism — the reduction of daughters, sons, judges and lawyers to a death toll — and asserts instead that each lost life must leave behind something that protects the next.
The Trust’s mission is to carry on Fizza’s own wish: to make a difference in the judicial and legal system of Pakistan, to make it gender-friendly, and to bring justice to the needy — the change she had written about in her LL.M application, delivered now through other young women like her.
“The sacrifice laid down by Fizza would not go to waste. The trust has been established to carry on Fizza’s wish to make a difference in the judicial and legal system of Pakistan; to make it gender-friendly and bring justice to the needy — especially through legal education and opportunities for young women.”
